If I could change one thing of the world, I could change China’s education system, which is composed of 4 components: basic education, occupational education, common higher education and adult education. As we all know, students who want to go to college must take exams called “entrance exams to Universities”, which are significant elements of China’s education system. They’re even regarded as one of the turning points in their lives.In China, it's a must door for all the Chinese senior students to the higher education. Although the College Entrance Examination has been around in China for nearly 20 years, I have to say it is too exam-oriented and narrow to students, and I think change the College entrance exam is the first step to change China’s education system.

According to the Ministry of Education, 9.15million people registered for the exams in 2012, 2.56percent fewer than in 2011. About 73.5 percent of the National College Entrance Exams (NCEE) has long been viewed as not only a key turning point for individuals and families, but also as a national event in China. The whole process used to be described as "a carp jumping over the Dragon Gate" or "thousands of people forcing their own way across a narrow foot bridge". So students and parents have to endure great pressure to the exams. But too much pressure is not favorable for the teenagers’pullulating. The pressure of getting good grades in the exams has made the students study without thinking. They just learn the knowledge but carry it out. To get a bright future, students are forced by parents to study, let alone the curiosity

and aspiration to knowledge. In a long term, it is harmful for the further study. So, I think that taking college entrance exams are the most crucial moment in a student’s life,it should be changed now.

The best way to solve the problem is to change the current single exam system into one that involves several exams, and the colleges should consider the students' usual academic performance and make comprehensive decisions on enrollment. It is not a significant factor that determines a student’s future development any more, and it just a way to test students .It will not only be much fairer to the students, but will also change the current exam-oriented education system and China’s education system.
