What would you do if you failed? Many people may choose to give up. However, the surest way to success is to keep your direction and stick to your goal.

On your way to success, you must keep your direction. It is just like a lamp, guiding you in darkness and helping you overcome obstacles on your way. Otherwise, you will easily get lost or hesitate to go ahead.

Direction means objectives. You can get nowhere without an objective in life.

You can try to write your objective on paper and make some plans to achieve it. In this way, you will know how to arrange your time and to spend your time properly. And you should also have a belief that you are sure to succeed as long as you keep your direction all the time.

16． Make it a habit to appreciate

All humans crave appreciation. One might expect that people would always be expressing appreciation to others. Yet, I find that this is not the case. Few people take the time to call or send a card or letter to recognize another person’s efforts. When people receive poor service or are mistreated in any way, they are quick to register a complaint. But when these same people receive excellent service or are treated especially kind, they seldom offer praise.

I suggest that you develop the daily habit of acknowledging others and praising them for any contribution that they make to your life. For instance, if a co-worker has helped you or made your job easier or more enjoyable in some way, be certain to thank that individual for his or her assistance.

My guess is that right now you can think of several people who have done things for you or assisted you in a special way in your business and personal affairs. Pick up the phone or write them a note immediately and let them know that you do appreciate them. Make this a habit and you’ll find that you will get more of the things you want in life.

19．The Value of Friends

It is almost impossible to imagine what life would be like without friends.

Do you want someone to cheer you up when you are depressed? Do you want someone to help you out when you are in trouble? Do you want someone to enjoy it with you when you are interested in something? There is no doubt that everyone needs friends.

Doctors can cure our body’s disease with medicine, but who can ever really have a happy mind or get over mental problems without friends? Friends make you happy. Friends listen to your problems and offer you advice. A true friend can share your joys and troubles.

Friends are of great importance to all of us. If we find one true friend in our life, we will be happy.
