● He is a versatile person.He is a German composer, theatre director, polemicist and conductor.

● He is a man for the birthof opera music.When Wagner was in his young age, he was found to be a music genius . Having heard Beethoven’s symphony at the first time, he was so impressed with it that he set up his mind to devote himself to music.

● He is a controversialperson.His artistic views were a little bit radical. He wanted to create a pure German folk opera. He was quite emotional , and he also expressed anti-Semitic sentiments in his works, which made lots of fierce debates. And his works were hated as much as they were worshipped

● He is an influentialperson.The effect of his ideas can be traced in many of the arts throughout the 20th century; their influence spread beyond composition into conducting, philosophy, literature, the visual arts and theatre.
