Abstract:Anovelalkoxyazobezenecompound5-(4-hexadecyloxyphenylazo)-1,3-diethylphthalatewassynthesizedthroughmultistepreactionswithisophthalicacidasrawmaterial.Thestructurewaschar-acterizedbyIR、HNMR、UV-vis.Themaximumabsorptionwavelengthandthemolarabsorptionco-efficientofthecompound(3.24 10mol LTHFsolution)were353nmand23950L mol cm-1,respectively.Thecompoundtookplacetrans-cisphotoisomerizationunder365nmUVirradia-tion.Thephotostationarystatewasobtainedafterirradiationfor8min,themaximumabsorptionwavelength(Kband)ofthecompoundblueshiftedto311nm.Itrecoveredoriginalstate40hlaterinthedark.Inthephotostationarystate,theefficiencyoftrans-cisphotoisomerization(R)andthecon-tentofcis-isomer(Y)ofazochromophorewere86.19%and90.5%,respectively.
