Definition & Guidelines- Execution to requirements; “The doer”. Responsible for making proposals, gathering input and providing the right data and analysis to make a sensible decision in a timely fashion. Role is to deliver specified results based on requirements.
RESPONSIBLE
I am accountable for my “R” It’s my responsibility to ensure I know and understand the requirements I can be entrepreneurial in how I deliver on my “R”, as long as the result meets the requirements (can be negotiated)

Definition & Guidelines- Defines the requirements and has the authority to commit resources to action. Defines vision, strategy, measurements, and consequence. Has the “D” (formal decision maker).
ACCOUNTABLE
Answerable for performance on some measured dimension The person who is the single point of accountability who must bring the decision to closure and commit the organization to act on it Best designated at the closest point to where the work is performed Has authority to resolve any impasse in the decision-making process Range of resources for which the individual is given decision rights and is held accountable for performance
