Step 2 Reading
Before reading, ask a question to the students “How many students does the passage mention?” Then study the passage.
Some point:
1. He’s been learning .= He has been learning 现在完成进行时
2. watch the actors say
watch sb. do sth 观看某人做某事
表感觉的一些词有类似用法:see / watch
hear / listen to sb do sth (经常做或已经做)
feel doing (正在做)
例:I often hear her play the piano.
I hear her playing the piano.
4. end up (by) doing sth. 意思是“以做 .而告终”
例:Let’s end up the meeting (by) singing a song.
After studying the passage, complete the chart below it.

Practise the conversation by looking at 3b.

Step 1 Revision
Review the passage in 3a by asking questions, like “What does Lillian Li think is the best way to learn English? What about Wei Ming’s idea and Liu Chang’s idea? ” Then talk about the ideas of the students themselves.
Step 2 Presentation
Say “ You have so many good ways to learn English, but have you ever had any problems with English?”
Write the problems on the blackboard. Then check the statement in 1a and add some other problems.
A point:
pronouce v. pronunciation n. 意思是”发音”
Step 3 Listening
Before listening, look through the challenges in 2a and understand them. Then say “You will hear a conversation between Paul and his teacher, Ms Mitchell.”
Listen and check the learning challenges in the chart.
2b. Understand the solutions in 2b and then listen again, then match the challenges in 2a with the solutions.
