2013届高三英语作文材料 1. 大学新生入学报到时常出现的几种情景,对此人们不禁会问:Should parents do this much? 情景1:父母肩扛手提行李,子女轻松行走;情景2:父母代填各种信息,子女一边旁观;
Should parents do this much? Each year new students come to university, and strange things happen on campuses. … 范文: the child just walks behind. Some parents fill in their child’s forms instead of the child doing it for themselves. Believe it or not, some parents even choose to stay in the university for a while with their child. Is it necessary for parents to do so much for their children? Personally, I am strongly against parents doing this. How can children develop and improve if their parents do everything for them? If things do not change, then these children will surely become lazier and lazier. They will develop more and more bad habits. Can a child learn to have enough responsibility in the future if their parents are always doing things for them now? The answer must be no. Above all else, a child must have the opportunity to do things by themselves. They must learn to depend on themselves. 2.
注意:1. 词数:150词左右;
2. 看法中必须包括以下两点: (1)不应给孩子施加过大压力;
This picture suggests that if a child is doing homework, then what both the parents can do is sitting close by and keeping quiet. In other words, it suggests that parents should give up their hobbies and never watch TV at home in order to create the perfect atmosphere in which their child can study. It is undoubtedly well-intentioned for parents to care about their child’s studies. However, I do not think that parents need to go this far. By making such an effort, the parents will put pressure on their child to do well, which is obviously harmful to their health. Instead of this, they should reduce the heavy burden on their children. As well as this, parents should have their own lives. Doing things that they themselves are interested in does not mean they do not love their children. In fact, a relaxing atmosphere will be more beneficial to their children’s overall development. I strongly think that parents should create a relaxing environment for their children to study.
This picture shows a child is doing his homework while his parents just sit beside him. They are not allowed to watch TV or talk to each other. They seem to think that their behaviour will help their son get higher grades. In all honesty I do not agree that this kind of parenting is a good idea. In my opinion it is unnecessary for parents to sit with their children while they are studying. In doing so they are not really helping their child to study, but rather they are putting more pressure on him to succeed. In the long run, this will be harmful to the child’s health. The parents should believe in their child’s ability to do well on his own. Furthermore, not only does the child have the right to live his own life, but parents should also have lives of their own when their child is studying. They could, for example, take a walk outdoors or read interesting books. All in all, parents would do better to create a relaxing atmosphere for their child to study rather than constantly putting heavy burdens on them. 3.

注意:1. 词数:150词左右;2. 参考词汇:版权:copy right;网民:netizen;
Network Real Name System
For a long time people have hoped to establish a network real name system. However, there is controversy as to whether it should be encouraged. Some people are in favour of it because a network real name system would have many advantages, such as making network administration effective, preventing online crime and helping to protect copyright. What is more, it would make citizens more responsible. However, others are against the system because they believe that it will create problems. Firstly, personal information provided by Internet users may be stolen or misused. Secondly, people may feel uneasy about revealing their real attitudes online. Thus, the system may limit netizens’ freedom. For my own part, I believe it is high time that a network real name system was enforced. It would improve the network environment and create a more harmonious society. Network Real Name System
Discussion is currently underway as to whether a network real name system should be set up. People differ in their opinions of such a system. Some people agree that the system would be useful, as they believe it would help manage the network effectively. A real name system could help stop online crime and protect copyright in our country. More importantly, the system would increase people’s sense of responsibility as netizens. However, others disagree with the idea of such a system. One reason is that Internet users’ personal information could be stolen or misused. In addition, people fear that netizens may become afraid to express themselves freely, thus limiting their freedom on the Internet. I believe that it is not necessary for us to have a network real name system. I think it would be harmful to a free network environment. Only when netizens feel they are free online can we have a more harmonious society. 4.
1. 简单叙述图表所显示的信息; 2. 分析中国学生用时较少的原因; 3. 结合自身实际,谈谈你的看法。 注意:1. 词数:150词左右;
As we can see from the following chart, …
Chinese students only have 12 minutes for physical activity every day. By contrast, students in South Korea have 42 minutes and those in America have 72 minutes. This shows that Chinese students have too little time for physical activities per day. There are a number of reasons for this. Chinese students spend almost all their time in lessons and when they go home, their parents make them study even more. This means that there is little time left for physical activities. In my opinion, both schools and parents should give students more time for physical activities. A lack of exercise can harm both our health and our studies. When I was in Senior Grade Three, I had so little physical activity that I often had a cold. As a result my grades went down. Therefore, it is time for us to give the students enough time for physical activities. Only when we are strong can we have enough energy to work hard at our lessons.
Chinese students have the least time, 12 minutes, for minutes. The reason for this may lie in the fact that Chinese students spend almost all their time on lessons both at home and in school. The result is that they have little time for physical activity. In my opinion, we students should have more time for physical activities. My own experience has shown me that doing exercise can actually improve my ability to study. I recently started playing basketball with my friends after school. I actually found that by having a break between my schoolwork and homework, I felt more refreshed and could concentrate much better. My parents, who were against it at first because they thought it would distract me from my studies, were amazed that my grades actually started going up. We should definitely pay more attention to physical activity as it boosts both body and mind.

Nowadays people often discuss the issue of safety on campus. Some students have their cell phones stolen from their dormitories; some students are knocked down by cars or bikes that are going too quickly; others get injured in fights with fellow students. In my opinion, these things highlight the need for us to raise our safety awareness. School safety is the cornerstone of a harmonious campus and a civilized society. It is directly related to the healthy growth of young students and the wellbeing of millions of families. To deal with this problem, students should be taught to take care of themselves on campus, behave well and act sensibly. They have to realize that it is better to do well in exams than in arguments and fights because there is no honour in being aggressive. Everyone who cares about their campus should get involved in this program. You can’t just leave

She looked after me when I was ill. She lent me her notes when I was having trouble with math. She even taught me how to knit a sweater. The most impressive part about her is that although she is so big, she is quick and full of energy. You can often see her in the playground, either playing basketball or volleyball. Three women are sitting in a cage. They wear fur coats and hold signs that read: “Animals Are Not Ours to Wear” and “Summer Is No Vacation for Animals on Fur Farms”. The innocent and lonely look on their faces reminds me of the animals that get killed every year in the fur business. While fashion advertisements present fur as stylish and glamorous, the undeniable reality is of the blood, pain and death which powerless victims of this brutal trade suffer. On fur farms, animals such as foxes are kept in crowded, filthy cages and then skinned painfully for their fur. If you don’t want these cruel things to happen, then don’t buy fur products.
Ever since I was little, I have always loved competition and teamwork. When I reached high school, I could think of nothing better than competing in the Science Olympiad team and combining my passion for learning with my desire to compete. However, I soon realized that it was much more than a team. It was a family. The elders not only inspired me by relating science to life but also mentored me through the difficult transition to high school. In my first competition I ended up with a disappointing score. A senior came up to me and told me there was always another chance. I came back next year and won two medals. This year, I was chosen to be the vice president and now it is my turn to direct the younger students towards science. I would argue that teamwork is more important than competition.
