People often say, “Children can’t do math problem s, it’s because parents can’t do their children’s homework. ” Here’s an example to show what I mean.
The other day my daughter brought home her math homework. “I have to subtract (减) 179 from 202,” she said.
“It’s quite easy,” I said. “You put the 202 over the 179. ”
“But we need a 10 here. Where is the 10?”
“I don’t know where the 10 is. Let’s just subtract 179 from 202. Nine from two is three. You carry one and add it to seven. Eight from zero is two. The answer is 23. ”
“We can’t do it that way. We have to use the 10. ”
“Well, I’m going to call your teacher to see how she subtracts 179 from 202. ”
Over the telephone, I said that I was having a bit of trouble with the homework she had given to my daughter. The teacher said, “In the right-hand column (栏) we have units of one. The two in
that column counts for two ones. The zero in the center counts for zero tens. The two in the left-hand column counts for hundreds. Are you clear?” But I didn’t think I was clear.
I hung up and found my way to the medicine box. My head was now hurting. I started putting pills of medicine into my mouth. “How many did you take?” my wife asked. “I took one and then I took another…I know one and one was two, but don’t ask me what it is now. ”

With more and more cars on the road, the traffic jam will happen. How do we see it and how can we solve the problem?
We know that the traffic jam happens in many places, especially in big cities. What are reasons for the problem? On one hand, some people think that they should have a car when they have enough money, and then it's easy to go out and they can feel comfortable. On the other hand, a growing number of people hope to use their cars to show off (炫耀). What's more, years of research has shown that one of other reasons for the traffic jam is the driving habit. For example, many young people enjoy driving very fast, so they can feel excited. At last, most of them hardly care about the speed (速度) rules.
Many governments are working at how to make the traffic better. In my opinion, firstly, the

Look around and you’ll see people busy on their smart phones. Smart phones do make our lives easier . But have you ever thought about what they mean to you eyes?
According to a study, half of British people own smart phones and they spend an average of two hours a day using them . There has been a 35% increase in the number of people in the UK who suffer from shortsightedness since smart phones were introduced there in 1997.

书面表达
My family rules
My parents are very strict and I have so many family rules. I am not allowed to play computer games because playing computer games is bad for my study and health. However I am allowed to play Ping-Pong, sweep the floor and do some reading. We all think playing Ping-Pong can make me relaxed and strong. I have to clean my room every day. Reading aloud is good for my study. I am not allowed to watch TV on school nights because my parents believe students
should pay more attention to studies. I think it’s reasonable for our parents to make some rules to make sure that I grow healthily, but too much rules can make me stressed out. I should communicate with my parents well.2
