M: Do we need to get together to plan our seminar(研讨会)?
W: Is there anything wrong with right now?
M: Have Tom's parents left for Los Angeles yet?
W: I think so. I called their house last night, but there was no answer.
W: I see the family next door has a new white dog. I wonder if he's friendly.
M: Yes, friendly. He came over here while I was cutting the grass and he wanted to play where I
was working.
M: What shall we do today?
W: I feel like going to a museum. It's too wet to go walking around the city.
M: I agree. Let's go.
W: How shall I do it, sir?
M. Very short all over, please.
W: Shall I put some oil on?
M: No, I don't think so, thanks.
M: Hi, Miss Li, do you need my help?
W: Can you help me with this desk? I want to carry it upstairs.
M: All right. But why upstairs?
W: A new student has just come. There aren't enough desks in the classroom. Could you also
help me carry a chair?
M: Sure. I'd be glad to. Where is my new classmate?
W: She is in my office.
W: Hey Carl, did you see the News Special on TV yesterday?
M: I sure did. Do you think that we'll really run out of oil in twenty years?
W: Not quite. But obviously oil companies are not finding new oil quickly enough.
M: Yeah. What did they say? Four new barrels found for every ten barrels sold?
W: That's right. That could cause prices to increase from 30 dollars to 100 dollars per barrel!
M: That would lead to a global crisis ! Especially, oil provides ninety percent of the world’s
transportation fuel.
W: Whoa! The world had better find a solution soon.
