Near Term Recommendations Equipment Continue to convert from body-building, single function machines to functional equipment in quantities to serve groups of up to 25 athletes.
The current equipment is not appropriate for elite athlete training. Functional training equipment will provide more training opportunities per device and more sport specific training. Improve training center and athlete sanitation practices to reduce athlete and staff illness and reduce lost training days due to illness.

Near Term Recommendations Chinese Sport Fitness Coach EducationMuch more education and practical experience in cooperation with AP coaches is necessary for the Chinese staff to become pr
oficient at Functional Training Methods. The intensity and urgency of preparing for the Olympics did not allow for ideal developmental opportunities. The optimal Chinese candidates should have a master's degree with significant study in biomechanics, anatomy, and exercise physiology or similar area. A minimum of 2 to 4 years of working with AP staff will be necessary to achieve the goal of high quality Chinese functional training coaches.
Opportunities to gain experience with elite athletes and teams is also critical to the development of these staff.

Long Term RecommendationsDevelop a strong and highly respected Sports Fitness Coach Certification in China Partner with NASM Develop academic track with BSU and/or Capital Sports College Facilitate student internships with elite international teams/universities/training facilities such as AP Soccer Fitness Coach (sport specific) Certification in partnership with NSCAA PT School partnership with a top 10 therapy school from the USA to establish a satellite campus in China and help produce future PTs AP produce directly and help the COC create internship opportunities for all of the above groups in China and internationally.
AP assist with development of advanced education courses and opportunities for all of the above groups.
