9.2.6Pipecontainingoneormoreimperfectionsthatpro-duceasignalequaltoorgreaterthanthesignalproducedbythecalibrationstandardshallberejectedortheareaproducingthesignalshallberejected.
9.2.6.1Testsignalsproducedbyimperfectionsthatcannotbeidenti ed,orproducedbycracksorcrack-likeimperfec-tions,shallresultinrejectionofthepipe,unlessitisrepairedandretested.Tobeaccepted,thepipeshallpassthesamespeci cationtesttowhichitwasoriginallysubjectedandtheremainingwallthicknessshallnothavebeendecreasedbelowthatpermittedbythespeci cation.Itshallbepermissibletoreducetheoutsidediameteratthepointofgrindingbytheamountsoremoved.
9.2.6.2Itshallbepermissibletoevaluatetestsignalspro-ducedbyvisualimperfectionsinaccordancewiththeprovi-sionsofSection12.Afewexamplesofsuchimperfectionsarestraightenermarks,cuttingchips,scratches,steeldiestamps,stopmarks,orpipereducerripple.
9.2.7ThetestmethodsdescribedinSection9arenotnecessarilycapableofinspectingtheendportionofpipes.Thisconditionisreferredtoasendeffect.Thelengthoftheendeffectshallbedeterminedbythemanufacturerand,ifspeci edinthepurchaseorder,reportedtothepurchaser.

10.1Weight(Mass)—Theweight(mass)ofthepipeshallnotvarymorethan610%fromitsspeci edweight(mass),asderivedbymultiplyingitsmeasuredlengthbyitsspeci edweight(mass)perunitlength,asgiveninTableX2.2orTableX2.3,orascalculatedusingtherelevantequationinASMEB36.10M.
