Cervus Command Line Edition
Cervus Command Line Edition (CervusCL) is a stripped down version of Cervus offering the analytical functions of Cervus without the Windows interface.
Just like the Cervus for Windows, CervusCL uses a Cervus project file (.crv)
containing the settings for the analysis. It is recommended that Cervus for Windows is used for initial configuration of the Cervus project file. Once an analysis has been set up this way, it can be repeated using CervusCL without using Cervus for Windows. Minor modifications to the project file can be also made directly using Notepad, as the project file uses the text-based inifile format.
When the project file is ready, CervusCL can be invoked by selecting Run... from the Windows Start Menu, typing "cmd" and then typing CervusCL at the DOS prompt or by including a CervusCL command in a DOS batch file.
The CervusCL program requires two parameters, the name of the project file and the type of analysis to be performed. The name of the project file must include the path if it is not in the working directory. If you are using a file name that includes spaces, be sure to enclose the text in double quotes. The type of analysis must be selected from the following list:
/ALF Allele frequency analysis /SIM Simulation of parentage analysis /PAR Parentage analysis with real data /IDN Identity analysis
