Figure of speech in headlines can increase the expressive force and create a fancy effect. But the figurative system is not corresponding in Chinese and English, it is hard to convert directly even for the same figure of speech. So we can use paraphrase and other figure of speech when the original one can not be kept.

The language of English headlines is simple and plain, it pays more attention to the description of the event. While the language of Chinese headlines is elegant and flowery .The antitheses, rhymes, idioms even classical expressions are often used in translation. For example,
