The general development tendency of English is to simplify gradually. This phenomenon is reflected by the appearance of shortenings in vocabulary. But in reality, the shortenings come into being incessantly, it is difficult to follow up the scent and collect them all the time. So readers should get contact with the newly-happened events and accumulate more shortenings.

2.1.3 Adoption of Vogue Words

Medium is a platform for all the new things, and the words to describe these new things are called “vogue words”, A great amount of vogue words do exist in English , which reflect the development of the times. Vogue words can be divided into two types:

(1)Neology , means to endow the old words a new meaning, e.g. the word “Bug” used to express the disfigurement of a program or any objection that demolish the natural operation of the computer system.
